Ocean Ecology Ltd opens office at the EMSP
The EMSP is pleased to welcome Ocean Ecology Ltd aboard the collaborative marine business cluster at Malin House.
Established in 2013, Ocean Ecology Limited (OEL) set out to work with the UK’s most forward-thinking organisations making use of and regulating the marine environment. It has since worked on a number of the UK's most significant marine infrastructure projects and with the majority of the UK government's regulatory bodies.
From its base by the River Severn in Gloucestershire, the company has just opened a Scottish office in The Moorings co-working suite at the European Marine Science Park.
Dr Karen Boswarva of Ocean Ecology Ltd (OEL) said ;
'OEL specialises in providing marine ecological surveys, analysis and consultancy services, to feed into Environmental Impact Assessments, monitoring programmes and research projects. Our expertise lies in the assessment and monitoring of benthic and epibenthic communities, protected habitats, fisheries and marine mammal populations and providing expert advice on the design and implementation of marine monitoring.
Having been based in Oban for 6 years, I look forward to utilising and building upon my existing network to help expand our service provision in the area and more widely across Scotland. A key focus for me will be developing local relations with the other scientific organisations based at the EMSP whilst acting as a local presence for OEL’s existing clients across Scotland, particularly in the offshore wind farm and aquaculture sectors'.
